Windy Surfing, WetSuit wrists, and Car Keys

I've been thinking of starting out surfing in the evenings but I was told it's too windy. I this an issue even at the beginnig stage where I'd mostly be paddling.

Additionally, does anyone know a good "test" to see if the wetsuit fits well around the wrists? I'm caught between ever so slightly looser wrists and more winging under the armpits vs a tighter neck. I can slip into both suits in about a minute and a few seconds. This suit model does not have the rubber seals.

Has anyone had the components in the physical key part of the keyless entry FOB malfunction from getting ocean water on it?
