Painting an epoxy?

Postby Aimeeeliza01 » Sat Apr 24, 2021 4:01 pm

Has anyone ever painted an epoxy surfboard and has it been successful or has it ruined your board? I really wanna paint mine but not if it's going to affect the board, or if the paint is just gonna disintegrate in the water

What type of "EPOXY" board ? If it is the Molded Epoxy boards like NSP, Surftech, Torq, and some of the older Boardworks ( where the paint job always bubbled ) than you can easily paint them. Just remember to spray a clear coat.

This was a brand new NSP 7'10" Funboard we had in the shop, that looked like all the others produced that year. The customer wanted a floral board like the Walden Wahine model but wanted a lower priced more durable option. So we ask her to bring in a fabric she liked and then had our shop artist replicate the pattern on the board.

The tail pad comes on the board stock so he painted around it.

He left the original pin line and you can just see the original "stringer" line.
