Hi guys, I am looking for something to fill the gaps in between surfing which will also kinda transfer some skill to longboarding. Is there any difference in the type of skateboard/carver/smoothstar one can buy to practice wide carvs/turns as one does with a longboard?.
Thanks alot!

Do you mean classic drop-knee turns ?

I practice turning and pumping with a Carver Resin c7 and this translates well to my 9'2" longboard. I also use a long skateboard to support cross stepping.

I have a smooth star. it lives up to the hype. Had to wait like 3 months for it, though

So tempted to buy one. I bought a used slide skateboard thinking that it will help me when there is no swell. Needless to say that it did not end well when you're trying a skateboard for the first time at 34 years old. Sold it after 1 day.

I wish I picked it up when I was younger.
