Shortboarders, or more specifically those that go to a too short board too soon, will never know the feeling.

Ok - I'll ask - how the heck did you get that shot?

Would you believe me if I tell I try to hang-5 sometimes on my 5'10"?

Still looking forward to learning longboarding so I can try those classic stuff!

It was on a FB site, I would've photo credited the photographer, but was unknown.

But I think maybe he suction cupped a GoPro to the bottom of his board ?

One of my best memories is hanging-5 on my INT 5'10" soft board at Baby Queens in Waikiki. So I believe you can do it also.

This is a 6'4" NSP Fish. Only takes one cross step to the nose !

Nice! I usually try it when the wave hits one of those sections where it gets too chubby, so I'm moving forward on the board anyways to try to keep up with it. It has worked sometimes, I wish I had seen from outside how it looked like.

It's probably much better to do it on a longboard though, since it locks better and you can walk all the way to the nose. Sadly haven't found a cheap one to buy yet, summer is here and we are having longer lulls between swells, could be having a little fun with it these days!

That angle could hide my Cheater 5 shortcomings much better

Kinda like below, except without the style... or the tube riding prowess

And my apologies that Takuji Masuda could only get a Hang 5 not a full Hang 10 straight drop into the barrel.

And Jake, make sure to fix the shatters on your rail before you pull in to those huge barrels ( might cut your forearms from fiberglass sticking up when paddling )
