The folks at my favorite spot don't want to see surfers until the pandemic is over. Below are some of their Facebook comments. I will probably park in the boonies, mask up and not go anywhere near the town. What's it like in your area?

I feel very sad and scared about walking on our local beach.
I don’t even go there at all anymore due to it being overrun by maskless visitors...

I am shocked at how many people come out here to surf and occupy all of the parking - seems very inconsiderate.

I object to the fact that the surfers keep locals from coming downtown on weekends and to no masks during Covid times, which evidently bothers quite a lot of us here in town, not just me!

Just back from a long holiday down the South West Devon and Cornwall, overhead a few snide remarks from locals regarding holiday makers in general, if the next lockdown comes maybe they would like to swop home's with someone living under lockdown in the inner city and see what that's like for three months. I do think this virus has brought out a lot of nausistic behaviour in people.

In the photo, I noticed the lady holding the sign ( and her family ? ) is not wearing a mask.

In Japan, our license plates have the ward name written at the top. So when you pull up to a park, the locals already know where you're from.

Offended by surfing?
Comment withheld to minimize its offensiveness.
