Wat4zz wants to talk about boards here!

Just rearranging the answers to your board questions, to somewhere that suits you more.
Let’s start, you are asking many questions great, but asking for barrels and difficult surf skills when people are advising to get your basics up.
I hear you don’t have much money, ok we all know that one.
Your board group will not help you,
An old sail board can be paddled onto waves if it is not to wide, but too wide and you will injure your shoulders by repetitive strain
The rails are designed for sailing not surfing but white water riding straight in could be possible.
Standing on body boards, doesn’t do much to help.
A short soft board is probably not suitable either.
Surf schools match their soft boards to height weight and size of the student. And are long boards.
Your simple and best course, go to a surf school once or twice, you don’t have to think what board you need.
Just go and do that then your questions will put you on the right track.
