Jeff Alexander surfboard 1970

Postby SurfsUp90 » Fri Jan 10, 2020 3:57 am

Hello everyone,
I have an Alexander Surf board signed by Jeff Alexander and dated 9-19-70. Does anybody know how much it is worth? I believe it it vintage. It’s not like the printed signatures you see on boards today. The date and board dimensions are clearly hand written and also fading like it was written on with a marker.

A board with a handwritten signature just means it was hand shaped by Jeff Alexander (who signed it when he finished). While that sounds special, the vast majority of boards before perhaps 1995 was hand shaped and even today a huge number are hand shaped and have original shaper signatures on them (I own several)

If the board is an odd shape or colour or aesthetically pleasing it maybe worth a few $100 as a wall piece. If it’s in bad condition then it’s worth not much. If it’s nothing exciting to look at but still surfable then maybe $50
