When you wake up feeling a bit off, but still want to ride a Single fin.

Yeah, that’s the beauty of it. You can put your single fin in either of three fin boxes.

Wait what? Why would you put a single fin in a box that's not liniar with the stringer?

Asymmetry , in shapes and fin placement shows up in board design every now and then nothing new just different!

Or more than one? I am guessing there is some variability besides just a single fin on that board. So my question is do you actually own this board and have you tried surfing with single fin not in the center? How does it work? In my mind I would think it would be better either frontside or backside but no real clue.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Actually there's been this small trend of running dual boxes with two center fins. It's just the first time I've seen a board with three center boxes.

But I imagine some sleepy surfer at dawn patrol installing his single fin in the side slot by mistake.

Here's some hybrid fish mid lengths whatevers. The board on the left has the dual center boxes.

So having 2 giant side bytes would be for more stability? Or maybe just one fin in a side box if your breaks all go one way?

But what's important, how did it ride?

Me ? Ride those silly things ? Hmmph, I only ride Quads, because quads are faster.

And this Dual box trend isn't new. I saw these back in the late 80's / early 90's. Forgot which Hawaii shaper that put them on his longboards all the time. ( maybe OMS will remember )

Wow! Nope never seen those things before. I had a shaper who was relatively conservative (tried and true) but did do stuff like making harder rails for me and three layers of glass over the back two thirds of the deck but I was still a glassed in single fin guy even when boxes and multiple fins came out. I didn't see the use of all that fancy stuff as my single glassed in fin boards did everything I wanted.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

I like that x fin, that's pretty cool too.

I've been thinking a lot about finding shapes, I recently had a class in fluid Dynamics, it was a 300 level class so now I think I'm an expert haha. Anyway, you may see me posting some 3d printed fins in the next year or so, just to fool around with.

Google up ‘Roy Stuart’ as a warning to what can happen if you go too far down the fluid dynamics and surfboard fins sinkhole (albeit he made beautiful surfboards)
