Unique surfer beverage coaster

Mrs. Morini surprised billie with a unique present last night (photo). We were dining in the wonderful Los Agave (Mexican) restaurant located where the Samarkand, East San Roque, and Upper East neighborhoods adjoin each other in Santa Barbara. This was the farewell dinner with our two lovely nieces visiting from Cologne, Germany. Mrs. Morini presented the young ladies with gold palm tree necklaces that matched hers.

The surfer image coaster received by me was made by Studio Vertu using tumbled (buffed) Italian marble. The studio is located in the USA.
Specifically, the coaster is made from Botticino marble mined from a quarry in Verona, Italy. The image is hand-printed with ink onto the surface of the rock. It is so cool that I wanted to share it with my Surfing Waves forum buddies.

That is cool. I would be tempted to put it on my wall. If it was a coaster I would be picking up the glass constantly (well, even more constantly) to have a look

Who actually uses coasters anyway? Isn't that what tables are meant for? :)

Ok, this is becoming a thing for me in the second half of 2019. Here's a coaster I picked up in Point Loma, CA (near San Diego), last week on a business trip.

Here's another coaster purchased in the same business trip, which also brought me to San Diego (proper), as well as Point Loma and Coronado's North Island. It's beachy, not so much surfing. I bought a couple to mail to nieces (Nitchten) in das Vaterland (Germany). These two young ladies (Fräulein; nobody uses this word today!) LOVE the SoCAL beach!

Still another coaster. I bought this one on a business trip two weeks ago to the west side of Puget Sound in Washington state. Believe it or not: the purchase was completed in a local hardware store, possibly in Coupeville, WA. I prefer the rural area where my work took me to city life. The reason for selecting this specific coaster for my sister is the two of us can demolish mountains of crab and buckets of oysters. We do this together as much as possible. However, it's infrequent because we're on opposite coasts. This coaster will be mailed to Orlando, Florida.

Reminds me a bit of the british Lino print style, except with surfers (which of course the Brits didn’t have) eg
