Hurty back foot

Been mainly on the longboard for last 3 months and seem to be aggravating some deep bruising on the inside of my back foot. Never a problem on my smaller boards, although I have been in the water quite a bit more recently and boots have been off for 3 months. I don’t feel any obvious contact when I’m popping up, but assuming I’m probably dragging it a bit. Anyone else get this? There was an old post from 2012 here but sounded like a different part of the foot.

Apologies for the photo; hope you were not eating whilst reading :spew:

I get that sometimes when I have a long surf session. I think that's the pressure point when I pop. Perhaps you're like me and applying too much weight on that part of the foot when you popup. The pain normally goes away after 2 days. It's on my right foot and I'm a regular.

Now days I just wear boots, it gives me more grip so I can do with less wax.

Hey BaNZ

Good call. I was out this morning and then realised it was where I was striking the board when landing my back foot, not dragging. Mustn’t have noticed on my hybrid due to the tail pad. Tried to soften my landing a bit and seemed to help.

When I go backside and grab rail my back foot everts and I get sore right at the big toe ball mound (behind the toe). When I surf a lot I actually start to develop a callus there, and it definitely kind of aches.
