Surfing Waves

I had my first surf lesson on Sunday, i loved it and can't wait to go again , im 6'4 and 200 lbs , could anyone tell me please , what type of board I need ?
I read a longboard would suit is this right ?

Welcome to the surf, a 9ft board, soft or hard, and have a few more lessons before you lay out cash for a board.
When you get around to thinking of buying post pictures or links of what are considering , there is lots of experience advice that can be given

And what size were the lesson boards you learned on ? 9'0" ? 10'0" ?
I would recommend At Least 3 feet over your head to learn on and get the basics down.
