Be ready for all the questions from surfers having problems building speed. Carissa Moore was spotting at the Brazil contest using these fin-lets on her board.

Yeah she even commented on it but basically said she didn't understand it but it feels good and she trusts her shaper to provide her good stuff or something like that.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

possibly they reduce turbulence in the wake of the board?
keep the water from spilling over to the sides?
Without some analysis I can't tell for sure what they do, but for example with aircraft winglets and fences can have beneficial effects.

There's a fin company that makes winglets onto their fins. They look so ugly.

Its probably a marketing move moreso than anything else.
