I guess she deserves to win. I have watched her prior and sometimes she is so good an other times a bit off. This contest she did well the whole way through. So many good women surfers and they are all improving. Stephanie Gilmore is similar but off this time in the last round but she is still the WCT leader. It's going to be an interesting year. Congratulations Lakey and John too.

Ol' Man, you are correct. Sometimes Lakey is "off" and sometimes she is "on." She is actually quite young and this is the root cause. She also has very long legs and is tall. These feature is not ideal for surfing. However, Stephanie Gilmore has long legs and is relatively tall. I see similarities in their surfing and believe it relates to their physiques. All this opined, Lakey and Steph kick my ass.

Either of them would beat me in a surf contest even if I was at my best and they were at their worst. ........ unless they had a broken leg or something,

Ja, Ol' Man, if I could surf with only 25% of Lakey's talent, then I'd be really happy.
