The surf is getting pretty nuts up here on the Pacific coast of Canada. I imagine this will translate to some big surf in Hawaii, Cali, etc...

It's been like this for a week and the whole upcoming forecast is huge. Too nuts for me.

Yeah, it's been big here, too (Nor Cal). Sadly a surfer died at Ocean Beach last week. Too nuts for me, too, although it's been pretty fun at some of the more protected spots.

The storms are just off the coast up here so it’s usually really messy in the winter. The swell does’t have time to organize. There are good days though (always on the days I have to work) ;)

I’m going to Sayulita in a week so I might get lucky and catch some of these swells but in better shape down there.

Sorry to hear about the death at OB. We had 2 deaths last summer. Exact same spot, just off the same rock.

:D Should be fun. I'm going to enjoy the smaller days and probably watch when it gets huge.

The surf's arrival is still three days off, so meteorologists are hesitant to quantify where this event falls among others. But some are speculating this is going to be big — possibly the biggest in years — National Weather Service forecaster Brian Garcia wants to get the message out: "Don't go to the beach. Don't step on the sand. Stay on the sidewalk."
