thoughts on tuflite?

what are your thoughts on tuflite/expoxy boards? yeah or nay?

I've got a tufflite in the quiver and its great

Its much tougher - no dings at all, unlike all my fibreglass boards. And quite a bit lighter too

OK, heres my input:
Tuflite is complete crap. Heres why, me and my family went on vacation to New Smyrna beach in florida, and since it costs so much to bring a board on the plane, so I rented a board there. The board I rented was a 6'10 tuflite board. First of all its very hard to get the wax to stick on the surface. So i take it out and im like ok its allright fiberglass is deffinately
better. Then the next day I take it out again and the surfs like 4-5 ft and Im riding and all of the sudden i start nosediving constantly. So in between sets i flip the board over and see that the nose is half off! It is barely hanging on to the board! I take it back to the shop and it costs $50 to fix. That is just my experience with Tuflite. Stick to fiberglass trust me.

It's a personal thing, and I have heard that from some people. My tuffy rides really nicely. As usual, it probably comes down to shape of the board more than anything else.

There's some truth there - the wax can be a bit harder to cover nicely. Using a wax one level colder than your normal sorts that out fine though.
And a hired board broke? Have you seen the sh%t fibreglass custom boards for hire out there? Dinged to hell, letting in water, snapped noses and tails?
Tufflite boards are not to everyone's taste, but they're sure as hell a lot stronger than a traditional board.

look for the surfburgers by sunova, much better boards quality wise, half the weight of a tufflight, and more durable too.

the besdt part is, they have much nicer ride, and are made custom.
