Nazare challenge big wave contest is on

http://www.worldsurfleague.com/events/2018/mbwt/2886/nazare-challenge In about 2 hours it will run. Should be about 25 to 35 feet of mayhem. Pretty sure someone will get injured as it's a very unforgiving break

Here is a shot I took. About 10 days ago, when inward there about 5 tom6 Meters and ugly slop!

Looking back tot he top of town , the geology was more interesting than the ugly surf

Where the rainbow ends is where the wave breaks, there have been,lots of articles about the huge underwater canyon and its bathymetrics that force it into being such a beast!

That knob at the end is where the fort and lighthouse is and the icon photos are taken, the cliffs are immense!
