are you kidding me? This happens everyday pretty much, so I've given up on surf forecasts, but if there is a hurricane anywhere close teh waves are usually good.

it happens to me ALL the time, even today as a matter of fact. I'm working a double today and got a break from 4 to 7 so I rushed home to get my board and headed out to the beach because the report said clean and fun. Well I get there and the waves are closing out and breaking right on the beach. Such a disappointment.

best to predicted it your self then if you get it wrong theres no one to blame i gave up using surf forcasts well the ones that say its gonna be X hight etc

all you need is the swell hight, period wind direction and speed to give you a good idea of how it will be

Surf reports can often only tell you if theres swell coming in - the quality varies from hour to hour :?

I sat in a car park with a friend of mine the other day with a clean six inch wave at low tide. We sat around for a bit with me telling him it would all change with the tide, he didnt think it would and so he left. An hour later it had jacked up to a chest high fun wave

Wind's less predictable, but just as variable.

today sucked because it was breaking in shallow water and the wave was all lip throwing forward as soon as it broke so you couldent even get up… and then it closed out. not cool :(
