El Nino 2018

I'm stoked...and feeling guilty especially since I'll be driving more often to the coast. Ride share anyone?

There’s a 70 percent chance of another El Nino this winter. So this could be a year we see the Mavericks event run, spectacular Pipe conditions, and rarely-breaking waves all over our local beaches. Sounds good, but it will annihilate local sea life and drastically change the character of our coastline. El Niños of course can also mean devastating storms and flooding, so while the West certainly can use the rain, it will come with a bit of trepidation too.

I woke up this morning and took my dog for a walk around the yard. There was almost no wind and I could hear the surf breaking close to a mile from my house. There was still a swell after the wind from the tropical storm had gone. One of these days I will retire and be able to go surf dawn patrol
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

I'm not sure what is worse.

Living in the best surf spot in the world and not having time to surf. Or living in the worse surf spot but have plenty of time to surf.

Well you know my situation is temporary. Years ago I had lots of time to surf and I did put in lots of hours. In the future I will have lots of hours to surf as well. I am pretty sure what is worse is to live in the best surf spot and have lots of time but can't surf due to physical problems
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

At Bolinas when the waves get to 7 feet at 20 seconds, the outside sandbars fire. I've never been there at the right time and hope this will be the year. :woot:
