Finally took the new board (Torq 8'6") out today on a very sub-par small day. Coming off the old 7'9" plastic Bic, boy, what a difference.

Catching waves was easier after I got used to the trim.

Glide was so much better, felt like I was riding over the flats. Today was short period, 1-2' and side/onshore winds , pretty weak overall.

Turning was WAY easier, I can actually dig a rail without stalling even near the nose...insane difference. Board is just as stable as the Bic so moving back and forth was no problem.

I didn't get to do any real cutties because of the gutless waves.

I had another good session on Saturday, the Torq turns on a dime compared to the Bic even though it is 9 inches longer . I was also able to spend more time on the top part of the wave.

Torq is an awesome board. Hence why nearly every board I own is a Torq. It is just so easy with it! The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a matt/rough surface. It is much harder to clean the dirt off.

I noticed an area of staining that looked like something blue had rubbed off on the rail. I looked at it more closely and it seems like it's under the first layer of epoxy, so it must've been there from when they made the board.
