I have been lurking around that "New dad question" post for awhile. Sounds like I'm going to have much less surfing time. I decided not to sell my 6'3 Torq and hope my son will like surfing and join me on my surf journeys. Perhaps he will be able to conquer the board which I've failed to do so.

Thanks Jaffa! It's a boy. I wasn't too bothered if it was a boy or girl. There is no doubt that they are stuck with a dad who spends every family holiday surfing with Uncle Bill in SoCal.

Congratulations proud soon to be daddy. If he grows up surfing he will be better than you so maybe some day he will teach you about surfing.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Congratulations!

Little ones are a big part of our lives too. After baby sitting my daughter's boy at 10 months I'm more exhausted than surfing. We're getting him a helmet for his first birthday to help with damage control. Then there's my son who will soon be a dad for twins. :woot:

woo. My 'kids' are now teenagers so I'm finally able to leave them in their rooms (well, getting them out of their rooms is the harder challenge). Now I just need to move closer to the beach and I'm all set. Oh, and stop working.

Congratulation of course. Make sure you see as many movies as possible in the next 6 months, because you wont see another one for about 5 years (and that will be animated)

The cartoon movies have come a long way since my childhood. They are actually pretty entertaining for adults these days with all the grown-up jokes that young kids don't get.

oh, for sure - I think i've seen every animated film (and many anime films) released in theatres (and most of the ones that werent as well) since about 2006. Just getting to the end of that phase; have moved onto super hero films (Marvel only, because 'DC sucks") and teenage angst, mixed with the occasional lightweight horror. None of my kids have managed to sit through Endless Summer yet

Disney and pixar movies are entertaining for adults and kids. But the problem is watching the same movie every day for the next few years is going to drive anyone nuts.
