Surfing Waves

when you are in the water with other surfers that you don't know how do you usually go about making friends with them? What do you say?


- Sorry I am extremely shy , and I would like to make more surfer friends as none of my friends surf.

here's what i do...i am still a beginner surfer, although i like to think i am getting better. but i try and look for people surfing at the same level as i am, then encourage them when they get a good ride, and before you know it, we are encouraging each other - shouting for each other, and giving each other tips....and i have made a new surf buddy

usually either try to encourage them or give them advice (but make sure not to sound arrogant at all) or if theyre better than me ask for advice on what i'm doing wrong

just surf and say hello it usually leads in to a conversation ..then you may see themw alking aroun somewhere later ...then youll see eachother surfing again and again and it will be come a regular ting ! so there you go ...how to make surfin friends 101 from k mac

LOL but it really is better to surf with someone else always. It's jsut so dangerous.

I usually just paddle out and say "what's up?" I've met a few people, including one chic my age. One guy that I met actually ended up living a block away from me, small world. I am a little bit more shy when it comes to talking to a group of friends that are paddled out together.

ya S2000, i hear ya how its alot harder to go out and talk to a group of people, but i found out that ive been surfing with most of the same people for a couple years so weve just gotten to be good friends

yeah guys thanks for all your help and support. I now surf with this chic i met who can surf circles around me . O well i'm not complaining.

BTW is anyone else addicted to this site cuz i sure am.

yeah dude she is sooo hot.. it distracts my surfing lol...jk but she is fun to surf with because it makes me progress faster,, you know surfing with someone whose better

ive seen big blubbery things that should have long tusks to fight off other invading aging longboarders

ive seen things that be so ugly ..even the bottom feeding fish wouldnt wanna buy it a drink ..and they be fleshin' blind !!

ive seen groups of uglys go in together in formation , keeping the ugliest safe in the middle of the huddle hahargh
