I wanted to reply to this post when it first hit the forum but thought it would be pointless because I couldn't work out to attatch a pic to my post. I had just purchased the ultimate (in my opinion) surfmobile and wanted to share it with you all. Its a 4 wheel drive V6 Holden Jackeroo. Goes anywhere.
Please just ignore the fat old man in the picture, I dont know who he is but he seems to pop up in all my photos lately even my surfing ones. Must be some sort of weird time warp thing!

Yeah goes really well and as Australian as vegemite!
Bit thirsty on petrol which is a bugger now that fuel prices are going through the roof $1.26 a litre here in West Aust but that's the price you pay for having the toys you want.

Volkswagen campervan, lime green devon convertable.

Cooking sausages on the tiny cooker, playing music and generally chilling after a good days surf!! That is the life

How else do you fit four boards in a van and still have room to sleep?

That picture was in Devon, my usual area, but we go all round the UK, and sometimes europe... slowly...

AUS $1.26!!!! Blimey -
In the UK the price of unleaded averages 99.8p a litre at the moment - that's AUS$2.37 a litre or US$1.76 a litre (that's US$ 6.66 per gallon!!)
Gotta love the taxman!!

just do what rob machado does to save gas money- paddle everywhere. i read about how he just paddles from break to break (up to like 10 miles, usually on a long board)

I agree, but I tend to prefer the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F350 Super Duty. The best trucks in small, medium and large sizes.
I try to borrow my dad's Silverado but most of the time I just use my Mazda3 for surfing trips. I think it's time to get a roof rack.

'Nuff Said!
I once saw someone who had restored one of these to its original glory. It was white and Jade green.
He'd then had a longboard made to match with 2 jade green stripes down the middle.
Beautiful!!
