Two weeks ago I saw a massive dorsal fin

I was surfing on a point by myself out on a longboard and was far out. It was 5-6pm and the water was murky as hell. Choppy and onshore wind but descent size of 3-4 feet. While waiting on the lineup I saw a massive fin and their back popping out of the green wave around 15m away from me. It doesn't look like a shark fin, more of a porpoise or dolphin. I panic as the closest other surfer is 25 meters away. I took the first wave that came and rode it in and got out of the water.

Looks like we really need to becareful since the ocean is getting warmer and the Chinese are eating less shark fins so their population is booming!

I think I could catch a shark nearly every day at the place I surf at. Here is one I caught and released a while back

Yeah at my buddy’s shore break in Kailua, I catch a baby hammerhead every time I fish there. No further out than the lineup.

As long as you can out paddle another surfer/diver/swimmer in the water, you are good
