Surfing Waves

I've been surfing a few months (regularly) and have moved down from my Bic 7'3 which i learnt on to a Bic 5'10" fish, which I get on well with but feel it's time to move onto a custom board. Bearing the following points in mind what board shall i go to next?
I'm only 5' tall and weigh just over 8 stone(so pretty dinky!), my local break is the Witterings where the surf can be pretty crap a lot of the time, but I also go to Widemouth quite a lot (the in laws live there), I need to teach myself to duck dive cos i get battered all over on big days trying to get out the back, and i can't sink my current log!!

Also i don't see the point of buying a new board cos I'll probably wreck it.. I was thinking of staying with a fish shape about 19" wide but not sure what length?

Mine too! I come down from London to Wittering a lot, mostly in winter, but looks like there could be a wave this weekend, so will probably be there this weekend.

If you're surfing witts, then a fish is a good choice
I wouldnt get too much shorter than the 5'10 you're already on - a custom will be much more responsive anyway.
As for a second-hand one - you might be lucky, but there arent too many fishes about in good condition.
If you've got the money, then try a brand new tufflite or s-core board. They're really tough compared to a traditional board, and they're super light too.

If, by chance, you're about at wittering over this weekend, and you see a purple camper van (in the bracklesham car park probably) then come over and say hello and I'll show you my fish which would give you an idea of what to look for in a board.

Yup it was a steep learning curve!! Spent 3 weeks in cape town in Jan and i wouldn't get out of the water!! My husband had to sit on the beach and get sandblasted for 3 hrs at a time!! He was so happy! NOT!
I normally go down the other end to E wittering but sometimes stop inBracklesham on the way to check the surf out.. I'll pop over if i see you, after all, who can refuse the offer of a bloke showing you their fish!! LOL!!
