Hey Guys,
New to this forum (not to the sport) so i hope i dont annoy anyone! Um i just sold my 8" Mal and thaught i would have a new board by the end of the week, BUT i am completly stuck for choice! I really want to get something like a shorty but im not to sure wether that would be good becuase i have only been surfanating (he,he) for about a year nd a half... Is there anything that comes inbetween a shorty and a mini mal? Kinda more like 3/4 towards shortys but between a m mal...? Sorry if that confudled anyone! If you know of a board or company in the UK that makes or sells that kinda stuff could you gimme a shout on the exact board or anything you can?
Cheers Guys!

I think maybe boards are like girlfriends and golf clubs.

You accumulate golf clubs looking for a good one, and girlfriends too. (I love ALL the girls, wish I could have one of each . . . )

Lance Armstrong wrote a book -- You know Lance, 7 Tour de France wins . . . The book is, "It's Not About The Bike."

-- Dude . . . It's not about the board.

Easy for me to say. I can get the board I want. And if I change my mind, I can get another board.

But it's like girlfriends. No one can tell you what's gonna work for you. That's between you and the wave.

Surfer's Paradise in Newquay used to shape 'Rhino' boards to your specification - I don't know if they still do this, but you could try talking to them about the kind of board you are after.?

You've just described a funboard! :D

Thats exactly what a funboard is - depending on your point of view, a rounded shortboard, or a sharpened mini-mal

They're a perfect next step towards a shortboard - stable enough that you can surf it without too much trouble but nimble enough that you can start to lay down real turns.

I bought one a couple of years ago from Tunnel Vision Surf in Newquay shaped by Mac, and its a top board.
Look at www.tvsurfshop.co.uk/front.asp
Or give them a ring, they'll be happy to chat. They've often got a few 'off the peg' so you could get one pronto!
