Surfing Waves

I can't tell you how many times a kook whose dropped in on me told me "Hey this is Waikiki, it's for tourist and beginners, you need to go surf somewhere else". Really ? There is a reason Surfing is called the "Sport of Kings". Watch this very interesting informative video on the place I call home.
Things that surprised me:
1) hearing Duke Kahanamoku's voice and how he liked the heavier boards
2) pillow case surfing

Thanks Waikikikichan , would love to surf there as an elder but non tourist surfer.
Always thankful for the gift I’ve been given in the surfing lifestyle of which I am a small paragraph on page in a much longer history, hopefully paying the aloha forward

If I ever take a winter trip to Hawaii I'll probably be out of shape anyway so a mellow spot sounds good enough for me.
