How tall would you say this wave is in terms of how waves are measured where you are?

6 foot or head high measuring from the FRONT. The take off height would be more...on the edge of thrilling and poo my pants.

4ft /chest high, on Ben Dover’s scale of wave size.
Don’t start the bloody size Bolognese again.
Waves are only measured in increments of fear!

Head high. I don't really measure waves in feet because it means different things to everyone.

I'm with Jaffa, would say it's between 3-4ft. But I usually write "3ft hawaiian" when I post here to avoid confusion :p

Yeah, 3ft; maybe a bit over if I was surfing it and later describing it to someone else!

Show that photo to a local surfer in Hawaii, "Brah, stay 3 feet li'dat ".
Show that to a tourist surfer from the mainland "Man, it's like 6 feet out there dude !"

Personally that’s my favourite height. 2ft can be a lot of fun but I can get lazy and it can get a bit same/same; 4ft is ok but usually means a 6ft bomb set every now and then which I hate being on a non duck diveable board. And I’m too slow for steep 4ft. 3ft works.

Hardly head high, look at the angle he is bent over from the waist.

Perhaps shoulder high on second inspection. The second pic I would call head high.

I would call it 3 feet but you can see it is the end of the wave.

Yeah I would've said around 3ft for the first and a solid 3ft on the second pic. Steep 3ft is always a lot more intense than a fat crumbly 4 or 5ft though.

I like a good steep 3ft. Always a bit of fun without being too much of a paddle or mission to negotiate

Yep, that's me...and at 5' 7" I'd look up at the lip without bending over. :D

That's what I thought... and I guess it's not that big.
