Surfing Dreams (or Nightmares)!

Postby sinistapenguin » Thu Jul 07, 2005 10:50 am

I have a recurring 'surfing' dream.

Basically I am looking out of a big building at a fantastic beach with perfect 3-4 ft surf.

The building is like an office block which has about a million corridors, with a million doors on each.

I know my surfboard is behind one of the doors and my wetsuit behind another, so I spend what feels like all night running and opening doors trying to find my stuff - the building is normally empty, but sometimes there are people about, but noone will help me!

On the odd occasion that I manage to get my stuff, I get to the beach and it's gone flat!

It's obviously a representation of my frustration at not being able to surf often enough.

Does anyone else have Cool/ Frustrating/ Scary surf dreams?

Post them here!!

I had quite a freaky dream, well, it wasn't the dream that was freaky but rather the timing.
It was a couple of days before boxing day last year.

Basically, there was going to be the biggest recorded wave ever to hit this particular beach and it was on all the radio stations about this wave, loads of people were going down to the beach to check it out and a few crazy people were actually going to try and surf it too. I was just in the house listening to the radio thinking I might go down to the beach and check it out and next thing I knew I was standing on the beach with my surfboard under my arm and this massive wave was coming towards us all, there were people watching and I was just greatful I had my board cos next thing I knew the wave had hit me and I somehow managed to get up and surf it. It was really weird cos I remembered it well and mentioned it to a couple of people at work the next day because they always ripping me off for surfing in the uk and stuff.

It was really weird though when boxing day came round and I remembered about my dream...

Yep I frequently have dreams about great surf nearby that I'm trying to go and surf but never actually succeed. Have no idea what it means, if anything :? .

i have this dream where, im at a busy beach (like in the summer time), and so im frustrated, and i take this path leading right. when i take this path, it takes me to this cove (or lagoon) which is all swampy and has lots of seaweed. its like the perfect spot for lefts, but i keep seeing this person there who i still haven't figured out who it is yet!

its not a nightmare, just a dream, but a weird one

I have had a few recurring surf dreams, which aren't exactly the same but have the same theme, ever since I first started surfing when I was about 13. They usually involve me and my family surfing in South west Wales, which is where I learnt, and nearly drowning and being thrown against the cliffs by huge, killer waves

actually ive just remembered another, more of a nightmare but not scary. its about 2 seconds long to tell but lasted much longer as a dream, basically im being dragged along by a (very small but incredibly strong) wave at saunton and i can see the surface but i cant reach it and cant breathe so i wake up gasping-literally!

hmm ive had many surfing dreams in my time ... probably the weirdest/scariest was i went outside onto my porch and saw teahupoo breaking about 50m away coming straight towards our house. i thought i was going to die! and i was so petrified i just stood there watching it come closer... but then it broke and by the time it got to our house it was just small whitewater. crazy stuff.
