da alley oop yo -

Postby Rusty44 » Thu Jun 30, 2005 9:57 pm

alrighty, in trying to find out what an alley oop is.. most of the replys are, " for f/s, you do an air and rotate clockawise to land on the lip and then u rotate the rest of the way to complete"

Well, while searching it seems that an alley oop is just an air where u rotate the unatural way and land, idk what all this stuff is about staying on the lip and such... I think thats a alley oop lipslide or something... or is a lipslide not even a move???? thanx

dude, just get out there and surf and quit worrying about all the names of tricks. You are still a beginner i'm guessing, because youve just been surfing a funboard so you dont need to know all this quite yet.
get out there and just have fun.

Picture yourself looking at someone surfing a wave while you are on the beach. If the surfer is on a left travelling down the line (left to right as you are looking), pulls an air and rotates anti-clockwise - that's an alley oop.

alright thanx patrol, thats what i thought but people say that u hafta land on the lip and then spin out... im just tryin to say its just an air that spins the other way...

gulf... sry i ask so many questions about moves, and yes, you are right that i am a beginner. However, you are telling me to just get out there and surf which is exactly what i have been doing and i am getting a lot better, and i am getting a shortboard soon so i can try all these tricks. Plus, i watch a lot of surf vids and i like to know what all the pros are pulling if u know what i mean.. sry if i annoyed u its just when im interested in something i wanna know all about it.

Japan/China w/e it was- shutup.

Hey there

I have to agree with Gulf, but not in a negative way. I wouldn't worry about what things are called.

If you can pull an air and rotate, then that's way cool, doesn't really matter if it's an alley oop or a mctwist (which I'd love to see someone do on a surfboard!!!!!!!!)

If you can do stuff that looks and feels cool, then that's all that matters.

It's always cool to hear how someone's getting better and I hope you are landing all sorts of aerials real soon (wish I was!!)

Cheers
