tea bags=warmth

Someone was telling me and a few others about how people put around 6 tea bags in their wetsuits to keep warm while surfing in cold waters.

Of course, we just cracked up at the very thought of it, but this guy was convinced that people did it, and he says he read it in a surfing magazine.

I searched a bit and found nothing on it. I can't even think of a reason why that would work. So, can anyone confirm or deny if this is done, or is anyone willing to give it a go?

I'm not trying to be stupid here, just confirming if somebody else is...
