Sunday at Saunton

Hey all ...

just wanted to post to see if anyone else was down at saunton over the weekend ?... was saturday as nice as i was told ??!

i missed out on Saturday as work rules all ! ... but managed to sneak down on Sunday evening
Its a 2&half hour drive so Had to rip down there in time to get an hour in the water before dark , all was going well untill forgot where one of the speedcams is and " flash " ..nutz ! .. that makes twelve esso points on my licence now ... anyhow thought stuff it " .. its fathers day and this will be a perfect way to end the day .
Sunset was drawing in and i was just getting into Barnstaple ' and then " gutted " ..the fools the mad mad fools have dug the town centre up ??????!!! Diversion signs 'sending me hurtling at high speed in the wrong direction . By now humour had gone and regard for all other life on earth had ceased , i knew i had like an hour or so tops ... one handbrake turn at a crossroad later ! and i found a shortcut to my beloved Saunton ...

There were only four of us in the water by 9:30 and we were blessed with one of the most stunning sunsets ever

saturday was amazing perfect head high waves one of the best surfs ive had was in pretty much from 7:30am till 5pm with a 2 hour break scored some amazing waves

i was also surfing saunton sunday from about 4:30pm till 7:30pm ish was right up by the rocks to the right where abouts were you surfing ?

Glad to hear you made it down for saturday .. i knew it would be a good day

" yeh sunday " ! , .. i screamed into the carpark in me saab at about 8:00 ish ... i did see a couple of guys by the rocks and then one left .. must have been you i saw wandering up the beach ! .
I was right in the middle of the beach sort of thing ..about 10 of us spread out , that went down to just four out there by 9pm ...an amazing sunset that lasted untill about 10pm ... " wicked "

Always give me a holler when your heading down , i sure as hell could do with some instruction ..im back to wobbly 'knee' popups and only lasting about 3secs before ... " in i go " !!!

a good weekend all round ... good to hear that saturday turned into " one to remember " for ya

...ahh ya lucky bugger ... spring tide and all so should be worth the visit .. looks like tomoz is the only day this week worth bothering with !

would love to join ya but cant have any more days off for a week ..gotta earn some money sometime !!

yeh no worries , email would be usefull then i can get hold of you at the beginning of a week !

Usually July and August are pretty quiet for me so hopefully should be able to duck out of here at least once a week

i got in this evening thought fleshin' it chucked every thing in the car and headed out there surfed till it got dark about 10:30 amazing sunset made the waves look a sort of golden orange colour, fantastic

i have plenty of free time now mate will PM you my email addy
