There is a surfboard outlet factory in Kapolei, you should go check it out. You can save some major cash rather than buying a board from TC or HIC. You can even check out Surfahaus or blue planet in Kapahulu.

Hey gar,
I just replied to your email. I agree that surfahaus is a real good place. It has so many different boards in the hundreds and is a haven for bodyboarders. If you want used boards, check out RV's ocean sports in Kapahulu. They have a lot of cheap ones. If you're not gonna bring the board back, I suggest that you try and rent a board from one of the beach boys. They'll show you how to surf and you can talk with them about good deals. If you want a good board to keep, I would say surfahaus, T&C surf, or Hawaiian Island Creations because they all carry local brands but can be a bit pricey. But theres no monetary value for a surfboard that you love a lot. Good luck and don't forget to stop in Kapahulu for a Rainbow Drive Inn MIXED PLATE (ask for chili on the rice for $1 more) and for your surfing needs.
Aloha!
