Muscle ache from duck diving

I had a lot of fun with my 8'2" funboard the last 7 months, but it was time for a change so yesterday I took the 6'6" for a surf.

I like it a lot to change things up a bit from time to time, it's such a refreshing experience. The 606 Addvance felt so much more easy to turn compared to the, already loose (it's all so relative..), 802 Submoon. Pumping down the line felt so 'natural'. Also a right timed duck dive under the lip of an overhead wave was like a new experience again. Stoked!

But I didn't duck dive the 8'2", it was all turtle rolls to get through. My muscles 'forgot' that they were well adjusted for duck diving. Ouch!

Getting older is the pits....I have muscle aches from pretty much anything anymore that isn't part of my regular activities....if I do something different than what I'm used to, in spite of my relative good fitness via frequent surfing, something as innocuous as hammering nails, the muscles involved that aren't used to getting worked like that let me know the next day without fail.
