Surfing Waves

Looks like next Monday and Tuesday surf is gonna have strong offshore winds with 10-17ft swell, don't worry I'm not even going to consider even going
My board isn't that big, neither are my balls
It's gonna be foggy and surf will be huge, some storm is passing by the country, that's probably why surfs gonna be massive, I doubt anyones gonna paddle out or even tow into anything considering surf doesn't hold up over 10ft where I live, thing is it does hold up well when winds are offshore(Very rare here), which they will be, really curious what it would look like
If anyone dares, I'm getting a taxi and running to the beach to watch and record it



How big has it ever gotten at your break because ours is gonna explode next week... if the storm doesn't dissipate

It's going to be 12-13ft max not as predicted a week prior obviously because weather patterns change but still offshore and big, I'm not daring to surf but it seems like the beach break here in casablanca and the reef breaks near rabat will hold up just fine because of the offshore winds which are very rare

I went out to my local about 8 months ago thinking it would be about 5ft and turned up to 6-10ft swell. Biggest I've ever seen there!!

Flipped a coin and decided that I would give it a paddle and if I made it out ok, and if not I'd flag it.
5mins later I'd somewhere managed to time it with a lull found myself out back with the Giants!
Couldn't even see the shore line behind the waves as they were soo large.
Semi pulled in to one and then chickened out once I saw the drop!

I don't know how big wave surfers do it- it's a totally different perspective when you're actually at the top and looking down at the drop!

Gradual increments yet each time the thrill is greater. Riding a wave that can kill you and escaping with your life makes you feel like you were never alive before.

I'd just go to a spot that breaks nicely when every where else is huge. You might also be able to surf inside.

When it's bigger then good for me I choose an easy wavespot, I feel reasonably confident in. On smaller days I'm looking for hollow and pitching waves.

The one time I surfed in 20 mph winds, I spent so much time re-positioning that I quickly got too tired to ride. The front of my long board was like a sail.

I surfed in 30 mph plus onshore winds. The waves were really great and you had a wind assist paddling into them. The only real downers were the salt spray whipped into your eyes paddling out and the danger of your board being blown back at you when you cut out.

I forgot to mention it was impossible for me to do any aerials in all that onshore wind (but then it's impossible for me to do them in any conditions)
