For you longboarders..

Postby benjl » Thu Oct 06, 2016 11:03 pm

Just came across this on FB and thought it was pretty cool. How bloody long is that board!! Must be like 11-12ft?

4 or 5 steps down the Board and he's only half way!

Here is a 13 foot board
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

That board looked more like a liability than fun! What's the point?! Looks
and sounded pretty unfunctional

Man those are ridiculously long! Must've been chaos without leashes having those gigantic boards flying around

Those are hollow. Can you imagine the big wooden boards that the Hawaiians rode? They weighed 100 pounds or more and were way more difficult to steer. Most people learned laying down and then if they improved they rode sitting or on their knees and grabbed or pushed the rail to help turn it. Only those surfers who were fairly good at it stood up.

here is a very long board. Notice sometimes he makes a couple turns before the wave has broken
