Sneaky sessions

I went for a surf session at like 9 am this morning, it's a muslim country here so everyone was celebrating l'eid, the swell from the storm is still holding up, the occasional 6ft set rolled in with 5ft waves occurring commonly, it was an amazing session considering I was the only person out, the beach only had a few people, I caught one of my biggest waves yet and dug a rail mid ride, it was fun anyways including me going over the falls
When I finished my session and came out, 2 surfers showed up when the tide raised a bit and the waves became 4.5ft or so
Do you guys take advantage of holidays to enjoy empty line ups like me?
It's loads of fun, I'm making the best of the reef breaks here because in my home city the water is murky and messy

No such thing here as a holiday break......there is actually....it only means that there will be even more people out.

I used to go surfing every Christmas morning. I would run into the same surfers every Christmas with the same tradition as me. Now I try to surf on every holiday I get but not to take advantage of it only that it allows me the free time.

I just retired so I get to explore the uncrowded weekday line-ups. There are usually more waves than I have energy to catch!

Here's a panoramic picture of my "send off." I'm the short guy under the clock. :D

BoMan ...there is a racially mixed group of people. Looks like it could be from Hawaii somewhere.

I managed technology for an elementary school in the Napa Valley serving a largely hispanic community. In retirement I volunteer with the after school yearbook and programming clubs. Me gusta los estudiantes!

Dos cervezas por favor. :) That's about the only useful espaniol I can remember although I used to know a lot more. Unless I want to find out where the library is. For most who took Spanish back when I did that was the first sentence you learned. I think the work day sessions will be more useful than holiday sessions at most places.

In the US one of the best days for finding uncrowded anything is the day of the Superbowl. I take advantage of that day every year. I would imagine around the rest of the world some of the best days would be during the World Cup and regional football (soccer) games.

Yeah when I was in college in Colorado the best time to go skiing was when the Denver Broncos were playing. The slopes would be empty until halftime then everyone would make a run down the mountain and disappear back into the lodges.

Congrats on your retirement, BoMan! :D

I went surfing on New Years Day this year and the lineup was pretty crowded.
