A guy on a local surfing Facebook group mentioned that he was clearing his house out and had to get rid of the below- free to first and most deserving applicant!

I managed to be chosen and picked it up today, it's quite big! Around 1.2m wide! It's whangamata in the coromandel in NZ.

Apparently the story goes... It was sitting on the road up for grabs a few years back, the dude liked it but thought it was too big so left it there. By chance, when his kid attended a new daycare centre he saw the same artwork at the play centre on the wall! When his kid started attending school, the play centre gave it to him as a leaving gift. And now I have it!
Just need to decide where it's going to go!

whenyou give it away make sure you tell the story behind this picture so that the new owner gives it the same treatment.

That's something! Now the pressure is on you to add something interesting to the story. Hopefully that doesn't include snapping your achilles tendon :D

maybe when I can surf again i can start a new tradition with it where you have to get a photo of yourself standing infront of where that original photo was taken?

I see you are in NZ so that's not so hard to get to? Then sounds like a good plan! You should get that photo framed to accompany the original

By the way, hope you heal on schedule! I've heard soft tissue injuries can take longer to recover than simple fractures, and you've proved me right. Not being able to surf for that long would drive me insane. HANG IN THERE (in your lovely high heels)
