Sun protection for hands?

Postby saltydog » Fri Jul 22, 2016 6:47 pm

Are there good (not cumbersome) warm weather gloves just to keep the back of the hand out of the sun? I have 1.5mm O'neil gloves but now that it's getting warmer I haven't worn them in a while and my hands are getting totally tanned. My aunt has gotten her second melanoma removed recently so I'm willing to look kooky in order to stay safe. Added paddling power would be great but I'm not after those webbed contraptions. Any suggestions?

I wear paddle gloves which you can see in the pictures, I am red haired so the melanoma risk is higher for me. Since my hands were my tools of trade I preferred not to have skin grafts and skin cancer on them when I worked with patients as well as the basic risk.
Sunscreens on the hands are basically slippers ( risk of broken nose) so they were out.
There are a number of gloves with and without webs and plenty of opinions too.

Some look like the creature from the black lagoon gloves and others I don't know what is available where you are.

Thanks for great suggestions. :D I was just about ready to dig around my garage for a pair of rubber lined work gloves or Harry Potter dementor hands I bought a few years ago for Halloween  when I found this on Amazon. The silicon grip seems very promising.
