I live near East Runton, Norfolk, England (anyone know it?) and I was wondering how good it is trying to surf when the tide is going out (say about 2-3 hours after high tide. Is it worth trying? I'm a kinda newbie and i've only got a 6'5"ish Short board. I can surf though.......

Basically, what I am asking is: is it worth trying to surf when the tide is on its way out? At any beach.

Thanks

(I'm planning on getting a mini-mal, but my finances are letting me down - i'm only 16 you see and don't have a full time job)

Yeah you can surf a beach on the drop - depends on the beach tho. Runton's ok on the drop but better on the push, and it often gets too deep on the high and then works again on the drop. But I'd probs get in at Cromer instead as its usually cleaner with less side current due to the shelter of the pier.

as Brooster says it depends on the location. Some breaks work best in different conditions. But over all its a combination of Tide, Wind, Swell, Tide Hight, and of course the state of th sand banks, rocks or what ever..
