Razyee,
Looks like a nice board. Can't imagine why you are having any problems.

What size soft board did you ride ? What difficulties do you have with the 6'8" ? Catching the wave ? Turning ? Snaps ?

If you're 6'1" and just learning, 7 inches over your head is too small. At least 2 feet over your head would be better.

I'm always curious as to why newish surfers buy a board and then ask on the forums if it is a suitable board for their experience , size weight etc? Surely we could help you more before you buy!

my soft was about 7'3 + - . currently i got some issues catching the wave and stand stable.
Was thinking that maybe the board isnt fits me but maybe its just hard for me to do that coz i havnt surf since a surgery on my leg (year ago) and came back to surfing a month ago to this new board.

The board is probably too small for your level of surfing. If you stick with it you can learn but it will be more difficult than a longer board. At a year out of the surf you have lost a lot of skill and need to relearn it.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

sorry for the photos

Thanks alot!

You are just about my size....that board is not that big of a board but it has some volume.....not all that easy to surf and would be hard to learn on compared to a longer board.....that kind of board is called a funboard around here.

What can you do is the question. Can you duck dive it enough to get under the white cloud or do you just get your hair wet and get pushed back?

I would watch some duck dive videos and try to duck it; really get forward and ALL the weight you can over the nose and use your foot to push the tail down, not the knee. You should be able to paddle that well so work on timing the waves and scooting out in between with a duck dip thru a face at most. Work on your turtle with that board as well; you should be able to whip it pretty quick with practice. When I turtle I have one hand high and one at the waist when coming back up; seems to torque it better and is quicker for me to regain position and get back to paddling that much faster.

You're putting the cart in front of the horse. Forget about trying to duck dive. Get a proper board for you to catch and ride the wave. If you can't get out by turtling, then the waves are too big or too close together for you to be out there.
