Hello,
I just bought an ION wetsuit on sale (JEWEL). I have been surfing for 4 months now and try to go 2 or 3 times during the week when there are good waves... Anyway, although I know this ION brand is more for kitesurfing or wind water sports... I just wanted to ask if buying a ION wetsuit was a good decision. I can see the brand is much more focused in kitesurfing than surfing. Any light on this? I still have time to change it so... Thanks, Ilein.

I've got no idea, about the brand, seems OK from their website.
I am however curious as to why people ( you are not the first) buy a product and then ask whether it is any good.
I tend to do the opposite check out reviews and comments and then decide what I am going to buy!
Uncle jaffa wonders

Hi,
That's a very good question. I have been surfing for only 4 months and renting board and wetsuit every time I go surfing. My friend has had a rash twice after putting on this rented wetsuits which are used by many people of course. That's why I decided to buy the wetsuit sooner than expected and of course during the big sale here. So there are so many brands that I decided to go to this nice sale with some ideas in mind but just forgot that a seller has not necessarily an unbiased opinion about what one should buy of course. For the price I payed I do think I have good wetsuit and very flexible which is what I really liked. But I must say that being a musician myself, there are so many things that you can ask before buying an instrument but at the end it is a very personal thing. I wouldn't buy something just because it has excellent reviews because maybe I cannot afford it or I am just a beginner and are not willing to invest in the best but something that's good for practicing and that will help me improve. I must say that I did ask several people who are surfing and one did recommend specially two models from ION. So the wetsuit I bought is super comfortable, I payed a super good price and now I have to try it in the water and see how I feel. It is still not that cold here though. But definitely ION is more of a kitesurfing brand. Anyway if anyone out there is surfing with an ION wetsuit let me know...

If the Ion suit is flexible enough for kite surfing it will probably work for surfing, and will be cheap than the premium prices the "name" brands ask. .
and Yes rented suits are nasty little sources of rashes etc, unless the surf school has good cleaning regimes. Icky
