What do the different temperatures of sex wax do for example what would happen if you took tropical into cold water is there a reason for the different types of wax or is it just a money making sceme

It's not a marketing scheme. The temperature ranges are real and effects stickiness for your hands & feet and how long it stays on tbe board. If you take warm temp wax to cold water, then there is no sticky. If you take cold water wax to warm water, it is too sticky for a short while and then it comes off the board.

Coming from Hawaii, most shops only sell tropical temp wax. Learned the hard way the first time I popped up while surfing in Japan waves.

Sex wax also has Quick Humps which has a traction additive more like the Sticky Bumps brand. I like Quick Humps because it beads up nice. If you have hairy forearms stay away from Sticky Bumps's "Punt" wax.

It is as cold as it gets here at the moment....actually just passed that bit and it's starting to warm again....used duct tape on my knees in most of Aug because the wax was so hard it was cutting my knees....the is only one kind of wax in shops here for the most part and I went the tape route rather than wax and relax a month later.

I use the Sex Wax Quick Humps Tropical for basecoat, then top it off with 'warm to mild tropic', for a nice sticky&bumpy deck.

But if I leave my board too long exposed to heat, driving around on the bike doing surfchecks, it will melt down inside the cover

Sticky Bumps Indonesia blend for top and the green one for the base is the best I've come up with.....doesn't melt and is sticky in the water....only it cuts knees in July.....

Then, only for that month, u should create a nice soft patch in the knee area with tropical quick humps topped by a gentle Mild Tropic cushion..

I have lots of duct tape....I'm good.
