Over 15 years ago, I remember surfing all the way to the inside at Queens. There was a little girl lying down on a tiny shortboard, just floating. I asked her if she was okay. She said she was fine and that her dad had just pushed her onto a wave. I asked her to grab my ankle so I could tow her back out to the line up. She said " No thank you, my dad will bring me back out ". At 5 years old, everyone who surfed at Queens knew she would be world champion one day. Not just a good surfer, but world champion. Didn't say in the video, but she entered the King of the Groms contest. She ended up beating all the boys.
