I just got a used board with a small ding on the rear.
Would it get worse if left not repaired?
Would if destroy the board eventually?
It it necessary to repair every ding?

It depends on the foam but for most boards they would get much worse if you don't repair it. Water will soak in and make the board heavier and cause delamination of the glass (separation of the glass from the foam). It will get more extensive and expensive to fix if you don't fix it right away.

Looks exactly like every used swallow tail surfboard we had in the shop. That's why I don't recommend them for beginners, since they don't know how to take yet.
Find out what the blank is made out of first. Let that thing dry out if it's moist inside. Gently cut away any of the flapping fiberglass. Then use the proper UV curing repair in a tube. You could made a tape dam around the area and prop the board on it's nose at a angle. Fill it little by little. Not all the way to prevent bubbles and excessive heat build up.

Sun cure is fine, just make sure you don't make it so thick the sun can't harden it so at least a couple layers and make sure you have the right product for the foam in your board

What do you mean by the foam in my board? Do I have to get some sort of "foam filler" other than Sun Cure?
This is my board, I think its polyester.

if the foam is polystyrene (EPS) and you put polyester resin on it it will melt away> If the foam is polyurethane and you put either kind of resin it is ok but if the board is made from polyester resin then the bond will be better with polyester patch and vice versa.

once it breaks open like that it definitely needs a repair. If you bump the wall and notice a small ding in the glass you can pack it with wax for a temporary fix.. I tend to do the latter more often till I have a few that need to be repaired and I can prep them all at once. being new to surfing means lots of dings for me at least. save material and time and do several at once. your however should be done before returning to the water. My swallow tail did the same thing.
