Where do you look for inspiration ?

When you're in a surfing slump or God forbid "getting bored", where do you look for inspiration ? For me I don't look to Kelly Slater. I look outside of surfing. Like they say "Surfing is easy, just paddle hard and stand up". Same as in Golf, "Just hit the little white ball". What about soccer, "run around and kick the ball into the goal without using your hands". But watch this video ( start from :27 ), see if it can inspire you to think about doing things differently in your surfing. ( or at least help you deal with others dropping in )

search Youtube for " Craziest Skills Ever ● C.Ronaldo ● Neymar ● Messi ● Ronaldinho |HD " ( video can't be viewed embedded in sites )

I look at YouTube...sometimes I'm lucky and find home videos people have uploaded from their vacations here and I can watch how they ride a break that I'm familiar with....that and old surf movies like morning if the earth....seeing those smooth single fin carves makes me want to get in the water....

Then there are Chelsea games.... :)

That is an awesome video of soccer and I don't even like soccer. Inspiration??? Bethany Hamilton. she is inspiring but as far as surfing goes I just don't need any inspiration. That idea that someone would, seems to me like asking a heroin addict what inspiration they use to shoot up? :)

I look at old stuff.

Tom Blake for instance was a pioneer and had great ideas, it's kinda cool to see how things were done in the old days. Take a look on how the SUP - Stand Up Paddle boards - have made it. Large boards in "boat-shapes" is more popular then anyone expected 15 years ago.

Hah...not popular with the non-SUP surfing public though, especially in a crowded lineup.....:)
