Traveling to Plouhinec France in late August

Visiting a friend (SUP rider) in Plouhinec. I think he may surf Brest. First time there, I ride a 8 ft and 6 ft. board...No SUP.
What can I expect? Anybody know?
Any helpful tips/advice would be incredibly helpful.
I am not bringing my board as I will be taking a train. I will be renting
I will be staying in Audierne.
A car is very much needed, I suppose...Rental boards easy to find?
