first time out didnt go as bad as I thought

Postby saltcreep » Sat Apr 04, 2015 10:12 pm

So recently picked up surfing and got my first board which is a 8ft foamie. Today went out to Bermuda beach in Galveston and was totally stocked for it. 4-5 ft waves because of a NE wind coming through and I managed to kind of catch my first few waves and was very excited, even if it was for a few seconds. Just kinda sharing here because not to many of the fellow Texan surfers here arent to friendly and even the shops were kind of eh when I was asking about newb spots that were out of the way of everything. (Actually had to look up where to surf sadly. Not one person would tell me anything) But, I feel pretty good about myself and feel like I really wanna make this A weekly thing. :) anyways just sharing with you guys so thanks for listening

Well done fella!! Feels amazing to catch your first wave.. I surfed foamies for a long time and got all my basics down on them. Congrats for getting out there. You'll always have us in here rooting for ya! Post up how you get on :)

Surfing aint too easy but nothing else can stoke you like riding waves. 4 to 5 foot wave in Texas? good for you on your first surf. :woot:
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

YeeHa Saltie, the eyes of Texas are upon you (if not at least the eyes of the members of this forum) Go for it!
