I want to resell fiberglass cloth have a few questions

Postby cppancoast » Sat Nov 01, 2014 4:39 am

i want to sell repair kits here in venezuela , they are expensive and i found a supplier for all the items inside a repair kit .

i dont know much about it though.

i see that in most kits they sell a cloth that is 4oz/square yard

if i were to find a stronger material like 8oz/square yard would it be beneficial for someone buying the kit? or it wont make a difference?

i would like for my kit to be focused on good materials .

thanks.

There is nothing wrong withe 4 ounce cloth, especially for repairs. Four ounce cloth can be sanded and hot coated very easily. It is thin enough that it will not reduce desired flex. Yes, 6 and 8 ounce cloth are stronger, but they are thicker, heavier, and more suited for canoes and other small boats. It is also possible to double 4 ounce cloth, if you need a thicker patch. Your repair kits will be more desirable with r ounce cloth, than with 6 or 8 ounce cloth.
