LOL I called in sick for work on my last day of work which was only a half day and I had allready trained my replacement. It wasn't that the surf was up it was just that surfing is what I did when I wasn't working and I was tired of hitchicking to work and they didn't need me anymore. (I had sold my car to go travel.) I never left work because the surf was up. I don't think the congresswoman did that either but superficially it fits the stereoptype.

She is a Samoan, Hindu, Veteran of the war in Iraq, surfer, congresswoman. Interesting person. I didn't vote for Bush but when he went fishing on his first day in office I thought He's my man! But I wasn't surfing back then..I wonder how many people vote based on such shallow criteria?
