Britain's top woman surfer suffered horrific brain injury as she practised to demonstrate new wave simulator to the Queen
- Surfer required holes drilled her skull after being thrown off wave machine as she practised for the Queen.
- Gwen Spurlock, 22, was number one female surfer in the country in 2008 (hey UK guys; was she?)
- She was testing out a new wave simulator at a Swansea leisure centre and due to perform at the centre's launch, attended by the Queen
- But she was thrown forward while practising and suffered brain damage
- She sued leisure company and was awarded more than £250,000 in 2012
- Now Bay Leisure wants to recoup the money from the two Glasgow-based companies who provided the simulator
